The 25th pick of the 2020 NFL draft class is set to explode in Kyle Shanahan’s system! Brandon Aiyuk is Kyle Shanahan’s modern day version of Julio Jones, which Kyle Shanahan had a chance at getting this off-season, but couldn’t outbid the Tennessee Titans. Aiyuk’s goal for year one was to replace veteran WR Emmanuel Sanders, who they lost in free agency to the New Orleans Saints (now a Buffalo Bill), he did that but much better.

Brandon Aiyuk started 11 games for the 49ers during his rookie season, and flashed in every single one of them. He managed to catch 60 passes for 748 yards, and 5 touchdowns. Not only can he catch the ball, he can also run it too! Brandon rushed 6 times for 77 yards and 2 touchdowns. Sounds like a good rookie season right, there’s more. He managed to do this with 3 different QBs: Jimmy Garoppolo, Nick Mullens, and CJ Beathard. I expect Aiyuk to go over 1k yards this year, and once again be the main weapon of the offense, with George Kittle and Deebo Samuel.

The 49ers offense last year was primarily based on rookie WR Brandon Aiyuk, who had 40 more snaps than any non-lineman on the team (missed 4 games). The only WR on this team who you can argue that upon is Deebo Samuel. Deebo Samuel in my eyes is a RB playing WR. Someone who runs the best end arounds in the league, and very nice short intermediate routes, as Brandon Can do it all. Aiyuk has the size/athletic ability you look for now in today’s NFL, he also has the same wingspan as future HOF WR Calvin Johnson. on film he was cooking DBs all day long, and the 3 QBs previously mentioned missed him multiple times. Aiyuk stats were perfect for his rookie season, but they would’ve been much better with a healthy starting caliber QB, Aiyuk is the teams clear number 1.
